Finance/ Business/ Econ

We emphasize financial literacy to help our students develop the decision-making skills necessary to thrive
in our global market economy. We believe that every student should have a firm understanding of how
real-world money works, including basic economic principles, personal finance, budgeting, taxes, and the
global monetary system. We are proud of our entrepreneurship classes that use business plans and
investors presentations to give our students hands-on business experience and leadership skills.

Financial literacy is an important life skill to have as an adult in the real world. Our school systems fail to teach children the necessary knowledge it takes to be a successful adult. From creating a budget to truly understanding how money works our children need to learn these skills and have a strong foundation.

Innovate Academy students learn business and entrepreneurship through an amazing teacher who has done it! AJ Osborne is a business owner who owns a 100 million dollar real estate company and owns multiple companies including associations, e-commerce, and an insurance firm. He has a love of teaching and has created a financial blog and his own podcast to teach others how to find financial freedom through cash flowing assets. He hopes to bring his deep knowledge of economics and finance to the students and teach them how to understand how the world economy works. We use many hands-on projects to teach kids how to be creators in the world economy.

Shark Tank

We use a class project based on ABC’s Shark Tank® to teach our students entrepreneurship skills and encourage creativity and innovation. Our students create a business plan, analyze potential revenues and expenses, determine market valuation, and implement marketing strategies for the product or service they create. They present their business proposals to a group of potential investors, who are instructed to rigorously question the students on their proposals and analysis. In addition to business acumen, our students learn how to think on their
feet, present in front of a critical audience, and effectively address questions about their ideas.
